Victor A. Pugliese
Victor A. Pugliese, 95 of Lakeworth, Florida and Rome, NY, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Clinton, NY. He was born in Scranton, PA, on February 22, 1919, a son of the late Innocenzo and Maria Scutti Pugliese. Victor served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1946. On September 27, 1941 he married Mary Facciolo at St John the Baptist Church. Victor worked for many years as wire operator at Rome Cable and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Victor will be remembered by those that knew him as a soft-spoken man who took pride in all that he did. He was a devout family man of strong faith and touched so many with his words of wisdom. His qualities of honesty and integrity made him a role model in his family. He will be greatly missed.
Victor is survived by two daughters, Ana Cook of Cocoa Beach,FL and her companion Jerry Daigle, and Deborah and son-in-law Richard Hochberg of Clinton,NY; daughter-in-law Yvonne Pugliese of Tampa, FL; grandchildren Ronald and Michael Pugliese of Tampa, FL, Nicole Dimnet and husband Luc of Hastings-on-
Hudson, New York, Danielle Evans and husband Brian of Albany, NY and Gina Saladino of Albany, NY; great grandchildren Luca and Valentina Dimnet, a son-in-law, Paul Cook of Lakeworth, FL. Victor is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Victor was predeceased by his wife Mary, who passed away February 3, 1999, a son Ronald who passed away March 22, 2012, and brothers Carl A Sr., Leonard, William, Amadale, Robert, and James Pugliese and two sisters, Roberta and Mary Scutti.
The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to the staff on Applewood floor at the Lutheran Home for the love and care they gave to our dad in the last years of his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will receive friends at St. John the Baptist Church, on Saturday, from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to his Funeral Mass.
