Rose Surace Vaccaro
Rose Surace Vaccaro was called home by our heavenly Father on, Monday, May 4,
2015. She was born in Rome, NY, on January 12, 1926, a daughter of the late John and Theresa Brognano Surace. Rose graduated from Rome Free Academy. On November 5, 1949, she was married to Paul D. Vaccaro in St. John the Baptist Church. He died on September 17, 1993. Rose was a former employee of ROAMA at Griffiss Air Force Base and retired as a secretary from the Rome City School District. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Happy Hoofers, Ava Dorfman Senior Center and Rome Cypress Twig.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Betsy (Anania) Vaccaro, John and Toni (Felice) Vaccaro all of Rome, four dearly beloved grandsons; Michael, Matthew, Mark and Paul Anthony, a great granddaughter Mia Rose and a great grandson Luca Michael. Also surviving are two sisters; Tina Sonsini, CA, Mary Spinelli, Rome, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Viola Surace, Florence and Paul Leonbruno and Hilda Vaccaro all of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, brother's Anthony Surace, Joseph Surace and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Charles Searles, Jamie Sonsini, Anthony Spinelli, Katherine and James Pugliese, Raymond Vaccaro and John Vaccaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to her Funeral Mass.

There are no calling hours. The family will receive family and friends at church on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass.
