Raphael "Ralph" M. D'Avolio
Raphael "Ralph" M. D'Avolio, 89, of Boonville, formerly of East Rome, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. He was born in Rome, NY, on July 26, 1926 son of the late Michael and Grace D'Avolio. Ralph proudly served in the United States Marine Corps., from 1944 to 1946. He married Cecelia "CeCe" Maichak in Boonville. Ralph retired from Griffiss Air Force Base in 1986 as a Housing Inspector and foreman of the Carpenter Shop. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Ralph was a life member of the Boonville American Legion, VFW, Marine Corps League, and Honorary Member of the Elks Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving besides his wife CeCe, are a nephew, Henry and his wife Heather Lucio, great niece and nephew, Calista and Enrico Raphael Lucio all of Clinton, and several other nieces and nephews, a Godson, Richard and his wife Kathleen Fazio, Rome, a brother-in-law Tom Maichak, VA. He was predeceased by two sisters; Rose D'Avolio and Ida Lucio, brothers-in-law, Mitchell, Ben and Joseph.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
