Leo Nizzi Leo Nizzi, 90, of Rome, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at home, He was born in Turbine, Texas on August 30, 1918, son of the late Pellegrino and Teresa Nizzi. Leo moved to and was raised in Borgo a Mozzano, Italy. He served with the Italian Army for seven years during World War II. On September 8,1948, he married Marisa Monterastelli in Borgo a Mozzano, Italy. Leo came to the U.S. in 1952 and was a life time employee of Revere Copper and Brass. Mr. Nizzi was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener, fisherman,hunter and had a passion for cooking. Leo was a very devoted family man. Surviving besides his wife, Marisa, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Edward Bobell Jr. , Balston Spa, N.Y., Loriana and John Moakler, Cicero, N.Y.; a son, Perry Nizzi, Frankfort, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Edward Bobell III, Katrina Bobell, J.P. Moakler, Paul Moakler, Leo Nizzi and Marisa Nizzi, two great grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Bobell. Also surviving is a sister, Stefana, in Italy, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Visiting Nurse Association and the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St.John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 2608 Genesee St. Utica, N.Y. 13502. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St.
