Richard A. Romano
Richard Anthony Romano, 75, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Rome, NY, on September 25, 1940 son of the late Joseph and Alice Kotary Romano.
Mr. Romano had a long and varied career beginning in his youth as a Rome Sentinel paperboy, serving the old downtown Rome, along Dominick St. He also was a stock boy at the Acme Market. After graduating in 1960 from S.A.A., he became a very popular disc-jockey at WTLB and WKAL. This job was treasured until voice problems brought it to a halt. Next Richard entered banking at Oneida National Bank and Oneida County Savings Bank where he rose through the ranks culminating as Vice-President. He was in charge of mortgages at the newly merged ONBank and M & T Bank in Utica, retiring in 2000.
Richard was a very hardworking, honest and fun loving man, with a great sense of humor and a beautiful way of putting things into perspective. He was loved by all.

He was predeceased by his parents and thirteen aunts and uncles.
