Obituary of Vincenza "Jenny" Puma

Vincenza "Jenny" Puma Vincenza "Jenny" Puma, 95, of Rome, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Sugar Notch, PA, on January 16, 1921 daughter of the late Giuseppe and Francesca Ballaro Beddia. On October 10, 1937, she married Fillippo Puma in Sicily, Italy. He passed away on December 26, 1982. Jenny was born in the United States and went to Sicily and returned to America in 1950. She was employed as a cook at the former Stonehedge Nursing Home and was owner of the LaBella Roma Restaurant. Jenny was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Surviving are three sons and four daughters-in-law; Joseph and Ida Puma, Huntersville, NC, Frank and Sharon Puma and Raymond and Helen Puma, Vita Puma, a son-in-law, Michael Hluska all of Rome, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Amedeo and Teresa Beddia, Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Andre (Angelo) Puma, a daughter, Vincenza Hluska, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Onofria (Nora) and Stefano Fedele and Maria and Carmelo Dainotto. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 10:15 a.m., from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd. and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
