Obituary of Peter V. Dibble

Peter V. Dibble Peter V. Dibble, 70, of Rome, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. He was born in Laramie, WY, on March 2, 1939, a son of the late Jay and Mable Vansickle Dibble. Peter served with the U.S. Air Force. On September 8,1962, he married Barbara Wightman in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Dibble retired after 30 years employment from Rome Cable Corp. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Peter enjoyed motorcycling, his camp on Lake Ontario, and traveling with his family. Surviving besides his wife Barbara, are two sons; Dr. William J. Dibble, Syracuse, and Paul M. Dibble and fianc LuAnn, Rome; a sister-in-law Marie Raack, Rome; a close friend of the family, Robert Skibinski, and his canine friend "Petey". He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann Irene Dibble, who passed away June19, 1994 and close friend Floyd "Lucky" Boyer. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff in ICU and the fourth floor at Crouse Hospital for all the care and compassion shown to Peter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. Peter's Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
