Obituary of Eleanor J. Ferlo Spinelli

Eleanor Jennie Spinelli,88, beloved wife of the late John Spinelli, of Oneida, passed away at home with her family at her side, on Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born in Rome, NY, on July 12, 1929, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Nucci Ferlo. On February 11, 1952 she married John Spinelli in St. John the Baptist Church, Rome, NY. Eleanor was a member of First United Methodist Church, Oneida and was of the Christian faith. Eleanor was a much loved mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and friend. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was always a place of welcome for all of her children, grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors. She loved sharing stories of her childhood, father, brothers, family and life on E. Dominick St. Her happy disposition and love of life remained even when disease took over her body and mind. She now can enjoy coffee and toast with her loved ones in heaven. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; Paul and Linda Spinelli, New Smyrna Beach, FL, John Spinelli and his fiancé, Patty Vacca, Oneida, six daughters and sons-in-law; Beatrice and Chip Fratini, Canastota, Rose and Vincent LoMonaco, Oneida, Ann Marie and Richard Torrey, Cicero, Jean and Arthur Hennessey, Naperville, IL, Patricia and Richard Clinch, Liverpool, Julia and Michael Muench, Canastota, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Eleanor Ferlo, Rome, sister-in-law; Nataline Ferlo, Albany and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and son, David A. Spinelli, six brothers; Anthony, Olindo, Guido, Fiore, Joseph and Albert Ferlo. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 116 W. Grove St., Oneida. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Rome.
