Obituary of Gary W. Millington

Gary W. Millington Sr.

Gary W. Millington Sr., otherwise known as Pal, 72, of Rome passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was born in Rome, NY on August 9, 1946 son of the late James and Christine Viscosi Millington. Gary graduated from Rome Free Academy, class of 1965. On April 1, 1972 he married Jean Gualtieri in St. John's Lutheran Church. Gary was employed in maintenance at St. John's Lutheran Church and had retired as a general contractor. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and following his grandchildren's sporting events. He also loved to spend time at the family camp on the Black River, and was a member of Kekis Citgo Coffee Club.

Surviving besides his loving wife Jean, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Jr. and Kim Millington, Dean and Kristi Millington, all of Rome; a daughter, Amy Millington and her partner Mallory Conway, Queensbury, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Marie Millington, Watertown, NY; five grandchildren, Gary Millington III, Hailey Millington, Derek Millington, Austin Millington, and Autumn Millington. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Janet Fulgieri of Rome; a nephew, James (Suzanne) Millington and children; a niece Maria Fulgieri, nephews Angelo (Mary Anne) Fulgieri; Michael (Barb) Fulgieri and their children. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Christine, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hank and Jessie Gualtieri, and brother-in-law Angelo Fulgieri.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 7751 Merrick Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105-9959.
