Nicholas "Butch" F. Domenico, age 80, of Rome, NY and Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, October 12, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Rome, NY, the son of the late Nicholas and Lena Piazza Domenico. Nick attended RFA and graduated in the Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1962. On September 15 1962, Nick married the love of his life, Phyllis Spinelli, they have had a beautiful marriage of 56 years. Nick worked at Mohawk Airlines for 13 years. In 1969, He was the proud owner of Swimming Pools by Aqua World, Inc., Marcy, NY, a successful business of 34 years, working alongside with two of his sons Nick and David. Nick was a practicing Catholic and a parishioner of both, St. Maria Goretti Church in Scottsdale, AZ and St. John the Baptist in Rome, NY. He was a choir member for 25 years and enjoyed performing in many concerts with his wife and friends. Nick had a special passion for cooking and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining for his family and friends to put his culinary cuisine on display. He also had a knack for gardening and his family voted that he had the nicest roses in the State of Arizona. Throughout his lifetime his main focus and priorities were to care for his family. Nick exceeded expectations in this area, for he was the best son, husband, father and grandfather in the world. Nick leaves his cherished family, his wife Phyllis, sons and daughters-in-law; Nicholas Domenico, of Glendale, AZ, Mark & Kelly Domenico, of Rome, NY, David & Cindy Domenico, of Fort Wayne, IN and a daughter, Maria & Pauline Domenico, of Glendale, AZ, nine grandchildren, Ben & Michelle Wakeling, of Claremont, OK, Theresa Domenico, of Seattle, WA, John, Lauren and Nathan Domenico, of Rome, NY, David Domenico, Jr. ( U.S. Navy), Josh, Alex and Dominic Domenico, of Fort Wayne, IN. Also surviving are a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony & Georgia Spinelli of Phoenix, AZ, his mother-in-law, Mary Spinelli, of Rome, NY and many cherished nieces and nephews. He also leaves many great friends in the Rome-Utica area as well as Scottsdale, AZ. Nick was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Domenico, sister, Gerry Sanzone, and brother -in-law, Sam Sanzone. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on, Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Abe Esper officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J.
