Jeanette A. Cantarano, 82, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. She was born in Rome, NY, on July 24, 1936, daughter of the late Joseph and Angela DiNofrio Malorzo. Jeanette was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She retired from the Rome State School as a Therapy Aide. Jeanette was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Tamara Cantarano, Rome, two daughters, Susan Cantarano, Rome, and Teresa Cieslewitz, Charlottesville, VA, ten grandchildren; Kristi Cantarano, Scott Gentile, Shane Gentile (Megan Gentile), Katie Gentile (Bruce Leonard), Kelli Gentile, Matthew Cantarano, Kelsey Cieslewitz, Devin Cantarano, Karl Wilhelmsen and Curtis Wilhelmsen, three great grandchildren; Anthony Cantarano, Aliyah Leonard and Malina Leonard, and several nieces and nephews. Jeanette loved being a grandmother; nothing brought her more joy than watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and being a part of their lives. She was predeceased by fiancé Tony "Ziti" Mesagna, three brothers; Vincent Malarzo, Salvatore Malarzo and Michael Malorzo, and four sisters; Beatrice Hitchcock, Theresa McKern, Elilzabeth Grande, Lucille Bochiccio. The family would like to express a special thank you to the St. Elizabeth Staff and the Eastern Star Home Staff for the care and compassion shown to Jeanette.
