Terri Deyo Seamans Clapps, 58, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Rome Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Auburn, NY, on February 2, 1960, daughter of the late William and Elma Cartner Deyo. On April 16, 2008 she married the love of her life, Ronald M. Clapps in Barnstable Massachusetts. Terri retired as a Corrections Officer from Oneida Correctional Facility. Upon retirement Terri began working for the Rome City School District in food service and at LaQuinta Hotel as the front desk receptionist. Terri volunteered for the Cub and Boy Scouts, the Salvation Army, PTA, Rome Baseball Association and she served hot chocolate as a fundraiser for Boy Scouts at Rome's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

Terri was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was kind, generous and unafraid to speak her mind. She was a fierce and spirited warrior who loved to laugh. After retirement Terri was proud to purchase a camp near her homestead to share with her family. Terri planned the best Christmas, Halloween and birthday parties. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crafting, ziplining, horseback riding, volleyball, roller coasters, snowmobiling, boating and snowboarding. She had no fear, she tried and loved it all!

She is survived by her devoted husband Ron, who loved her dearly, her children; Mackenzi Hand Jones and her husband Dale Jones of Holland Patent, Todd Seamans, Casey Seamans, Raven Fallon, Alanna Clapps Bone, Ron Clapps of Rome, Dustin and his wife Miah Clapps of Remsen, grandchildren; Jaycob, Chloe, Brooke, Mia, Jarrett, Lily, Jackson, Emma, Paisley and Rori.
