Obituary of William J. Vacca

William J. Vacca, 88, of Rome, passed away, Monday, July 29, 2019, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY, on December 22, 1930, son of the late Ralph and Mary Appito Vacca. Bill attended Rome Schools. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On August 31, 1957 he married Stella Kulesa in Rome. She passed away September 11, 2017. Bill was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Toccolana Club, Galliano Club, Rome DAV and St. Gregory Club. He enjoyed playing bocce with his friends. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph W. and Marianna DiPaolo Vacca, Rome, three loved and cherished grandchildren; Michael Vacca, Ralph A. Vacca, and Robert Vacca, and two cherished great grandchildren, Gabriel Vacca and Stella Vacca. Also surviving are a sister Ann and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Vacca, two brothers, Michael Vacca and Rocco Vacca, and a sister, Antoinette Tuzzolino Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd. where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
