Obituary of Rose M. Scaccia

Rose M. Scaccia, 100, of Rome, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Rome, NY, on March 8, 1919, daughter of the late Pasquale and Lucy Page Destito. Rose attended Academy of the Holy Names. On November 16, 1940 she married Silvio J. Scaccia, in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away February 21, 2008. Rose was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Jeanette Scaccia, Rome, a daughter, Adelaide "Penne" Goddard, FL, five grandchildren; Kimberly Goddard , Kevin Goddard, Keith Goddard, David Scaccia, and Denise Barr, five great- grandchildren; Mykaela, Alexa, Megan, Michael, and Mary Rose and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sil, a great-grandson, Alex, three brothers; Russ Destito, Don Destito and Frank Destito.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to third floor staff of Bethany Gardens, for their kindness and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. The family will receive friends at church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the Funeral Mass. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
