Marcia K. Murphy, 80, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. She was born Rome, NY, on December 27, 1939 daughter of the late Thomas E. and Doris Dickinson Kilbourn. Marcia was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1957 and received her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Potsdam. She was married to the late Thomas Murphy. Marcia retired as a teacher from the Rome City School District where she had taught at Denti and Strough Schools. Marcia was of the Presbyterian faith. Marcia lived a life of service and kindness to many needy families. She was a member of Rome Teacher's Association, Stanley Performing Arts, Friend's of Syracuse Symphony. Marcia was involved with the Rome Memorial Hospital Twig's, Wednesday Morning Club, and enjoyed her card group with the girls. Surviving is a brother, Ronald Kilbourn, Oswego, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, and a partner, Gary J. Northrup. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m., to 1:00 p.m., prior to the Funeral Service. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
