Obituary of Donald E. Robinson

Donald E. Robinson Donald E. Robinson, 80, of Sherrill, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born in Gilreath, N.C. on January 25, 1929, son of the late John P. and Goldie Hayes Robinson. Don was a member of Wilkesboro, N.C. High School Class of 1945. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps. On March 3, 1973, he married Carmella "Dolly" Gualtieri in Rome. She passed away January 12, 2007. Mr. Robinson was employed for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in Oneida for 41 years. He was a member of the Niagara Mohawk 25 Year Club, I.B.E.W. and American Legion Post 858. Surviving are a brother, Major Robinson, North Wilkesboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lois Souther and Mildred Bishop and five brothers, Earl, John, Clifford, Claude and Hugh. Services will be private. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, N.Y. 13413. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Rome.
