Obituary of Elaine M. Smith

Elaine M. Smith, 85, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Endicott, NY, on July 29, 1935, daughter of the late Cecil and Alice Gordon Estep. Elaine was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School. Elaine was generous and always supporting those in need. She was a faithful Christian. Elaine was a hard worker whether in her profession or at home with her family. She loved the outdoors, a sunny day in the garden brought her joy and a smile to her face. Elaine was loved deeply by her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Surviving Elaine are sons; Kurt (Lorin) Gensler, Mark Gensler, Edward Smith and Sherry Connelly, a daughter, Alice Gensler, grandchildren; Kenith, Kimberly, Heather-Jo, Kari, Dewey, Amanda, Mathew, Melissa, Timothy, Samantha and Lily. Also surviving are a sister, Barbara Saunders, a brother, Gordon Fluharty and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Claire Smith and a brother, Cecil Estep, Jr. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Nicholas J.
