She was such a great and wonderful, who will be missed.
I’m not sure you ever stopped being one of her students, doesn’t matter how many years after she had you in her classroom. I moved out of the area after college, but everytime I came back to the area, if Capana’s was open, I would stop by. And everytime she would remember me and call me be name. She always showed a sincere level of carrying for how you were and how your life was going that is rare.

Bob,Mary,John,&Joe and family, It's over 65 years since "Miss Capanna" put me on her lap and dried my tears on my first day of Kindergarten, at Oriskany Central School. When Pearl & Bob were married, I was thrilled to be a Junior Bride's Maid, and Mrs.H. was my sponsor when I made my Confirmation. Every birthday I received a special gift, and in the summers I loved going to "help" at the Capanna's Fruit Stand. Best strawberries and sweet corn of my entire life!!
I remember Joseph&Rita, always working, cooking delicious Italian meals in the "summer kitchen" behind the stand.
Just about a week ago I suddenly happened to thinking about Pearl. I tried to determine how old she might be now, and I wondered how she was as I remembered how completely special and important she always made me feel, how kind and caring she was to everyone, how now, over 70, her non-judgemental, uplifting, sweetness has no rivals.
Kindergarten was a child's first educational experience then, before daycare, or preschool....The children fortunate enough to have had "Miss Capanna/Mrs.H " as their first teacher likely have the same memories that I do, that I will cherish all of my life.
My deepest heartfelt loving sympathy to all who are , as I am, so very thankful for the gift of this most wonderful person in their lives . May your memories and those of all who loved her bring you solace and comfort. Marjorie L.Roblin

Bob, Mary, John, Sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful and generous person. She was my dad's right hand for all of those years they were together at General William Floyd Elementary school. Our homes are still full of her painted holiday ceramics she gave us over the years! Best regards, Joseph, Christine, and Mark Guarini
