Lynn A. Labuz, 59, of Rome, passed away Tuesday December1, 2020 at Oneida Healthcare Center, Oneida, after a long and courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY, on July 3, 1961, daughter of Paul A. and Sylvia R. Darke Colangelo. Lynn attended Rome Schools. On April 7, 1990 she married Richard J. Labuz. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Lynn loved the holidays, being surrounded by friends and family and trips to Sylvan Beach with her daughter Brandi. Lynn always loved cooking big meals for everyone and making sauce on Sundays. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Lisa and brother-in-law Mike, at their home. Most of all she loved spending time with her children. Surviving besides her husband Richard, are two sons; Richard B. Labuz and Zachary P. Labuz, of Rome, three daughters, Brandi L. Labuz, Utica, Brittany M. Labuz, Alisa J. Labuz and her father, Paul A. Colangelo all of Rome. Also surviving are a brother, Paul S. Colangelo, twin sister Lisa M. and her husband Michael Riolo, whom she was very close with, Michelle T. and her husband Mark Nashton, all of Rome, a granddaughter soon to be and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Sylvia, a brother, David (Kevin) Vincent, paternal grandparents, Salvatore and Edith Colangelo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Anyone wishing to attend is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
