Obituary of Dorothy A. DelVecchio

Dorothy A. DelVecchio, 82, of Rome, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY, on August 2, 1938, daughter of the late James Anderson and Stella Podosek Bosco. Dorothy graduated from Rome Free Academy. On August 9, 1958 she married Elmer "Sooky" J. DelVecchio, Jr., in Transfiguration Church. He passed away February 27, 2011. Dorothy was a member of Transfiguration Church.

 

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law; Lisa and David Latour, Brewerton, NY, Lori and James Malinowski, Jordanville, NY, and Lynn DelVecchio, Rome, two beloved grandchildren; Allyson and Holly. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother-in-law; Connie Bertrand, Carol and Eugene Klepadlo, all of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sooky, a daughter, Ann Marie DelVecchio and a sister, Kathryn Brockway and a step-father, Samuel Bosco.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Anyone wishing to attend is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Private Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
