The Gratch Family,
While I didn't know Carmen well, I'll never forget him. He was, I believe, one of those special people that once
you met became your friend instantly. We had some laughs at the bowling alley---our leagues bowled at the same time and I
always liked it when our teams were within talking distance----such a friendly, fun loving guy. We subsequently crossed paths
in the line of my work also as I was an OR nurse at Rome Hospital and was with him for a couple of surgeries. I just wanted
to let you know how very truly sorry I am for your loss and that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Gloria Nellenbach

My deepest sympathy to all of Carmen's family. I graduated in 1957 with Carmen and always looked forward to seeing him at every one of our reunions. He was special to all of us who knew him over so many years, at school and thereafter. He had a winning smile and a joking nature like no one else I know. He will be greatly missed by all.

Incredibly sad to hear! He was an old friend of my ex Marcella (Terzini) Keiser and we met regularly at the Turning Stone where Carm held court over long and laughing conversations with our group. His sense of humor and his obvious love of friends and a good laugh made him the center of attention without ever trying. Although I haven’t seen him in years, we stayed in touch via texting until literally last week. I am shocked at his loss. He was one of a kind.
May he finally find Sophia Loren in the afterlife. Those who knew Carm will get this.

I just thought the world of Carmen. We worked together at Birnie Bus for a few years. An on going joke would be where Butternut Rd was . He couldn't find it one day and I knew where it was. He was amazed. Sending your family my deepest sympathy. RIP Carm...you will be missed. ~ Sue shean
