Obituary of Gloria M. Izzo

Gloria M. Izzo, 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021, at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Rome, NY, on November 3, 1929, daughter of the late Carmine and Anna Ansonia Izzo. Gloria was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She retired from Griffiss Air Force Base from the Accounting Office. Gloria was a member of St. Peter's Church and a member of Gal's Club and the Griffiss Ski Club. Gloria enjoyed ballroom dancing and received many awards along with John Hayes O'Neil.

Surviving are sisters-in-law; Julia (Orlando) Izzo and Carol (Joseph) Izzo, both of Rome. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including special nieces; Valarie and Christine. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Carmen, Jr. and Michalina, Edward and Katherine, Mario "Babe" and Marion, Orlando, William and Cookie, and Joseph Izzo , sisters and brothers-in-law; Dolores and James Twomey, Mary Jane and Darrell Stewart, Rosella and Edward Przelomiec and Jean and Paul Moles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter's Church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
