Obituary of Sharlene A. Beck

Sharlene A. Beck Sharlene A. Beck, 76, of Rome, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 31, 2009, after a long illness. Sharlene was the only child of Charles A. and Dorothy F. Herrick Beck. Born in Rome N.Y., on September 29, 1933, she was educated in area schools. Sharlene was a 1951 graduate of Rome Free Academy and attended Utica College of Syracuse University, Beneficial Management Institute, and The American Institute of Banking. For many years she worked with the public, both at New York Telephone Co., and Rome Savings Bank. Sharlene was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a step-mother, Mary A. Beck, Rome; and a very special person, Mary M. Mario; Rome, who was like a mother, confidant and loyal friend for 40 years. Mary was also a spiritual advisor to Sharlene, a very holy person, and may God truly bless her. Also surviving are her cousins Peter Dawes, Fl; and Sue Mears, Rochester, NY. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, New York 13440. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W.
