Elizabeth A. Grifasi Elizabeth A. Grifasi, 85, of Rome, passed quickly Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Rome Memorial Hospital, with her devoted sons by her side. She was born in Rome, N.Y., on June 7, 1925, daughter of the late Michael A. and Sarah Coccagnia Neri. Betty attended Rome schools. On June 14, 1947, she married Francis "Cheech" V. Grifasi in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away September 14, 2001. Betty was employed for many years at Grifasi-Rossi Liquor Store. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Gary F. and his wife, Ann Grifasi, Michael D. Grifasi, all of Rome; three grandchildren, Michael Grifasi and his wife, Karly, Syracuse, Marissa Grifasi, Lancaster, Pa., Marc Grifasi, Rome; a great granddaughter, Luca Grifasi. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Joseph Molony, Lancaster, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dominick Neri; and two sisters, Helen Giardino and Veronica Neri. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. In keeping with Betty's wishes, there are no calling hours. The family would like to express a special thank you to Stonehedge Nursing Home Wing III for their care and compassion. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St.
