Mrs. Brown, You were my fourth grade teacher at Stokes in 1992 and were one of my favorite teachers. You cultivated the minds of all of your students. Thank you for allowing me to be your mentee during a senior year high school internship. You were an amazing mentor! I learned so much from observing you with other students. My prayers will be with you all at this trying time. Mary taught my son David @ Stokes and then I had the priviledge of working with her when she came to Strough. She was a caring dedicated teacher who enriched the life of friends and students. We retired together in '05 and I am so sorry that she had so little time to enjoy that retirement. She so looked forward to having time to spend with her family. She will be sorely missed.

Dear Brown Family, We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Mary. I have very fond memories of her in high school and at Geneseo. We were in your wedding and that was a beautiful ceremony. Although I did not keep in contact with her over the years I thought of her often. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that she is an angel who will now keep watch over you. Mary's meek, mild manner made an everlasting impression on me. She was a wonderful teacher. I had the pleasure of working with her for six years at Stokes before she went to Staley. She was an asset to the Rome City School District and will be missed. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
