Obituary of Vincenza "Jean" M. Illi

Vincenza "Jean" M. Illi Vincenza "Jean" M. Illi, 86, of Rome, passed away, Sunday, December 21, 2014, with her daughter by her side, at St. Luke's Nursing Home, New Hartford. She was born in Rome, NY, on August 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Alessandro and Edmunda Lorenzoni Carnebianca. Jean was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She was employed as a secretary at the former Griffiss Air Force Base for thirty three years. Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She was very involved in the Rome Woman's Bowling Association and was inducted into the Rome Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dr. Bruce Elwell, Marcy, four grandchildren; Gregory Jones and his fiancée Andrea Radziewicz Utica, Nicholas Jones, Whitesboro, Trevor Elwell, New York City and Emily Elwell, Marcy and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Orlando and Camille Carnebianca and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Tony Gurdo, Emma and Louie Marcelletta, Gerry and Victor Romano. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Luke's Nursing Home, Clark West, for their care and compassion shown to Jean Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev.
