I met mike when his mother Betty was a patient there..he was always getting his mom groceries and things she wanted .lol always on the go ..we became friends we had lots of good times laughing with Betty..I will miss our chats..and most of all bringing him in spaghetti and meatballs...and he liked popsicles...rest in peace my dear friend I miss u !!

So sorry for Mike’s family, My Mom, Thelma Dekin Root who passed away recently also knew Mike from their time working together at the Rome DDSO. I met Mike when we all started together in ‘93, ElChico’s, Sperduto, pit 6, pit 1, too many memories to mention. I hadn’t seen him in many years but will always remember him. My condolences to his children.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike in therapy at the Grand (and occasionally as his barber) We hit it off very well, despite for his love of the NY Yankees. Lol! He often spoke about his family, especially his grandchildren. We anxiously awaited the birth of his most recent granddaughter and were happy to see the pictures that Mike proudly carried with him and shared with everyone around him. We will miss Mike! I wish to send my deepest regrets on the passing of Mike to your entire family. It was my pleasure to have cared for him in the Physical Therapy department for many weeks watching him progress as well as maintain a functional life within the nursing facility. I will always remember the conversations we shared about our families as well as about our mutual neighbors we use to know. I enjoyed going to his room just to say hi as well as viewing his latest pictures and videos of your family on his computer. Its our memories that we hold dearly in our heart.. I remember as a child, my father, Dominick Neri, would take us faithfully every Sunday after church to visit his sister, Betty Grifasi and Uncle Frank. My 3 siblings and I would play with Michael David and Gary, always having fun and laughing. Michael David was always lively, energetic and funny. I looked up to him as I was the youngest cousin. As years passed, you could always expect to be enthusiastically greeted by Michael David, "Hey, Cuz!" When out at a club, many a girl never believed that Michael David had three beautiful cousins fawning over him! We had a lot of fun with that! My father and Michael David adored each other. They would go rabbit hunting along with my brother, Michael Mark. The past couple of years my sisters and I brought Michael David homemade Italian Christmas cookies. Rosettes were his favorite. It was bittersweet to see him less able to be his dynamic self. Now, I can only think about the celebration they are all having in Heaven! Michael David greeting my brother, "Hey, Cuz!", running around visiting with his friends and extended family and lovingly embracing his parents! Until we meet again, Cuz! Darcel Neri Puleo

I met Mike in 1999, when I started working at the Casino. We got to talking, and he used to be good friends with my sister back in "the day." He would reminisce about the Fooseball Hall and the place near RFA and tell stories of the fun they all had. Mike was a very nice and likeable person.
